Ecology of yeasts

Abstract
Yeasts are widely distributed in nature. However our knowledge of the occurrence and distribution of yeasts tells us that their natural habitats are rather specific. As many of the living forms are restricted their living places by the ecological relationships with the environment, so are the yeasts. Undoubtedly studying of yeasts in such ecological aspects will reveal their roles played in nature and both of their beneficial effects and harmful affliction to our living. As Lund(33) has described, in the temperate zones where four different seasonal changes are apparent, yeasts are cycling from suvstrates to substrates in nature as the season changes.
